Here comes the Shunsai

While we’ve been known to eat an entire loaf of bread when we’re hungry, we get excited when a meal is more than just a short-term solution to our insatiable hunger.

Which is why we’re stoked about the opening of Shunsai, an all-new restaurant at The Wellington in East Brisbane that promises an intimate and immersive journey into the delicacies of Japan.

Owner and head chef, Shun Mori, has realised his dream of creating a uniquely Japanese experience after spending years working at award-winning restaurants in Brisbane and Sydney and catering for the Swedish Royal Family at the Japanese embassy in Switzerland.

The authentic ambience of the 18 seat setting is reason enough to check it out, the real star of the show is Chef Mori’s menu. Each dish is delicately prepared in “Kaiseki” style; a collection of skills and techniques designed to bring out the natural flavours of each ingredient.

Mr. Mori has spent months developing his degustation of seasonal tastes and the results will not only leave you with a new appreciation of Japanese cuisine above sushi trains, but have you lost in a moment of Food-Wars-esque bliss with every bite.
