Sales records set on Mondrian Gold Coast residences

Contracts have been signed and exchanged on 84 homes at Mondrian Residences Gold Coast which form part of the mixed-use development from Vitale Property Group at Burleigh Heads, developers have said.

The six-month selling period saw $231 million in permanent residences change hands, representing two, three and four-bedroom apartments, including nine ‘sky homes’ and 11 penthouses. The branded residences form part of the Mondrian Gold Coast, the first branded residence in Australia managed by Accor under its Mondrian brand.

Residents of the permanent homes will be able to access all hotel services available to short-stay guests including 24-hour room service, concierge, private house car along with a number of perks available only to permanent occupants.

Accor Global Chief Executive Officer, Lifestyle Brands, Gaurav Bhushan, said the sales levels marked an important step in the evolution of the Mondrian brand and demonstrated its global appeal to residential buyers.

The resort-style hotel features a beachfront swimming pool.

“It reinforces our conviction that branded residences are integral to Mondrian’s growth strategy here in Asia Pacific and around the world,” Bhushan said.

Apartments in the complex sold for amounts starting at AUD$799k for two-bedroom apartments through to up to AUD$11.8 million for two full-floor penthouses. The majority of purchasers (70%) were based in Queensland, with 60% coming from the Gold Coast itself. Buyers from Sydney made up 10% of the sales, with 20% coming from Melbourne.

Residences sold range in size from two bedrooms to full-floor penthouses.

Accor Senior Vice President Development Residential and Extended Stay, Jeff Tisdall, said he was thrilled with the response.

“It’s clear to us that there is pent up demand for private residences with elevated international branding, turnkey services, and innovative lifestyle experiences.”

Mondrian Gold Coast is being developed on the beachfront at Burleigh Heads and remains on track to open to residents and short-stay guests in 2023.
