6 services (usually) only available to five-star hotel guests

A concierge and room service aren’t just for holidays — branded residences are bringing a new level of luxury to
apartment living.

Being assisted by a concierge service, having fine-dining meals in your room and sipping cocktails while lounging by a state-of-theart
pool are usually reserved for five-star hotel stays. However, branded residences make these luxuries part of everyday life.

Branded residences are private apartments attached to luxury hotels where residents can access services normally only available to hotel guests.

Living in a five-star hotel can have some pretty stunning benefits.

“They lift the offering to differentiate themselves from what else is out there,” says Cameron Kusher, executive manager of economic research at realestate.com.au. “That’s the benefit of being attached to a luxury hotel.”

Here are a few five-star hotel services that could become your new normal.

1. Concierge

The ease of ‘dialing 9 for concierge’ makes hotel life a breeze. This can happen at whim in a branded residence. Concierge services can collect your deliveries, book restaurants, organise activities, hire private fitness trainers and much more.

“You can book laundry services, cleaning services, or pet walking,” says Adrian Parsons, managing director of TOTAL Property Group. “If you’re an owner that is out of town, you’d be able to book to have routine maintenance conducted on your property.”

2. Private driver

No one likes battling through peak hour or circling the block for a car park. It’s no wonder many exclusive hotels provide a private driver service for guests to get around in style and comfort.

Whether it’s a day out shopping or dinner and a show, you don’t want to worry about navigating through traffic or finding a park.

But some branded residences are also offering private drivers. It’s a level of personalisation and added security that goes above and beyond a traditional apartment building.

3. 24/7 room service

Five-star hotel life is all about ordering room service to eat while in a fluffy bathrobe, relaxing on a king-sized bed and watching a great movie. This can happen every day in a branded residence, with hotel restaurant meals on speed dial 24/7.

If you have guests to entertain, you might like to have a personal chef from the hotel restaurant come and cook in your apartment.

“If you want to pick out a really nice wine, you can have the hotel sommelier help with that,” says Adrian.

4. Day spa services

Luxury hotels offer some of the best spa treatments available, from hot stone massages, to aromatherapy facials, manicures, pedicures and more. In a branded residence, you’ll have all of these indulgences literally at your fingertips — you could even order a pampering session in your own apartment.

“People want the ease of checking into the day spa and simply charging the services to their owner’s account,” says Adrian.

5. Bars and world-class restaurants

After a long week at work, indulging in a delicious cocktail and top-notch meal without making any effort at all will no doubt appeal.

The beauty of a branded residence is that the hotel’s sophisticated bars and restaurants are just a few steps away. It’s not only convenient, but also a great way to catch up with your neighbours, or even to meet hotel guests from around the world.

6. State-of-the-art swimming pools

State-of-the-art swimming pools are one of the key attractions of a five-star hotel. In a branded residence you can simply turn up and jump in for your daily laps.

Afterwards, you can kick back on a lounge chair and order some lunch from the hotel restaurant while you soak up the sunshine and take in the views.
