A development application has been lodged for a Homemaker & Lifestyle Centre, on vacant land formerly the Bunnings site, located at 197-207 Reedy Creek Road, Burleigh Waters, Gold Coast.

 

 

 

Designed by 77 Architecture, the proposal seeks a single storey homemaker and lifestyle centre that will accommodate a range tenancies sizes and configurations based on individual tenant requirements. A cafe has been positioned centrally within the east and west wings of the proposal to provide for customers of the retail centre.

The proposal provides 386 open car parking spaces that will integrate with the existing retail car parking area along the south east boundary of the site. Access will be provided via the all movement existing intersection with Billabong Place. Pedestrian access is provided directly from Billabong Place, via an internal pathway to the proposed Homemaker and Lifestyle Centre.

The planners at Civity state, “the proposed development is consistent with the intent of the Mixed Use Zone more specifically the Fringe Business Precinct. The proposed development will provide complimentary business to the surrounding existing land use pattern and remain consistent with the overall outcomes of the precinct”.

 

 

 

 

The proposal seeks 11,760sqm of gross floor area (GFA), with 11,859sqm (36%) of site cover over the 32,850sqm (former Bunnings) site.
